In the Spotlight today is the 5th Annual SOHO International Film Festival (SIFFNYC), bathing New York City in the very best in global and American cinema. More than simply a celebration of film, SIFFNYC is a tribute to the artists who bring it to life and to the cineastes who live to discuss, dissect, and devour it. Embracing a wide variety of narrative, short, animated, and documentary stories, SIFFNYC represents a sampling of the international cinematic conversation, fittingly hosted in one of the most diverse and energized cities on the planet.

Seasoned professionals and fresh-faced talents alike are welcome to contribute their works to this unforgettable week-long event -- and a host of networking events and panels are on-hand to encourage dialogue and relationships that traditionally extend well beyond the festival itself. It's little wonder that MovieMaker Magazine recently named SIFFNYC on its list, "Top 50 Festivals Worth the Entry Fee." Last year, SIFFNYC screened films from more countries than ever before, and the festival shows no signs of slowing down in 2014.

Over the past three years, SIFFNYC has drawn remarkable support from celebrities and accomplished filmmakers alike. Emmy-winners Armand Assante (Gotti), Michael Emerson (Lost), Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos), Carrie Preston (The Good Wife), Oscar-winner Octavia Spencer (The Help), Oscar-nominee Danny Aiello (Moonstruck), Luis Guzmán (Boogie Nights), Frank Vincent (Goodfellas), as well as directors Michael Rymer (Queen of the Damned) and Uwe Boll (Rampage) to name a few, have all stopped in to support and participate, helping to grow the scope and prestige of this fun-filled, audience-fueled event.
