From the 2nd to the 6th of October, the 11th edition of shnit has celebrated the art of short film and captivated audiences on five continents. Bern, Capetown and San José additionally held national competitions and awarded their respective winners on Sunday.
For the first time, shnit enters a second festival-week with the international competition coming to its decisive phase. In a total of five categories, «THE FLAMING FAUN» will be awarded to the well-deserved winners. The international jury – consisting of six acclaimed personalities of the film industry and headed by the jury president - has nominated three shortfilms in three distinct time categories. The international audience and the artistic direction have each designated three nominees for the Audience Award and the Festival Award. Here you find more details concerning the procedure and the international jury. This year's head of the jury is Asger Hussain.
Before the winners will be awarded at shnit FINALE, taking place for the first time in New York on the 13th of October, we are sharing all nominated films with the audience online. We are therefore proud to introduce shnit CINEMA, which is accessible from the 9th to the 12th of October on the shnit Vimeo-channel.
