In the Spotlight today is the 20th Annual Sedona International Film Festival (SIFF), honoring the best in narrative features, shorts, animated films, and documentaries. All genres are welcome and encouraged at SIFF, and the festival even features multiple themed tracks throughout its nine incredible days of programming. Film lovers can find a Family Film Series, a Classics series (hosted by Turner Classic Movies icon Robert Osborne), a Green and Sustainable series (focused on environmental subjects), and a World Cinema showcase, all in one place.
In addition to a line-up of extraordinary films (including some of best foreign films to be found anywhere), SIFF features an annual celebrity tribute at a gala event uniquely designed to honor an admirable and inspiring cinematic career. Previous SIFF honorees have included legendary talents Michael Moore, Nicolas Cage, Nick Nolte, Peter Bogdanovich, Doris Roberts, Gary Sinise, Paul Sorvino, Rip Torn, and countless other luminaries from in front of and behind the camera.
The real stars of SIFF, however, are the visiting independent filmmakers eager to display their remarkable works of art. SIFF grants at least two screenings of every film, as well as Q&As after every screening (provided the filmmaker is in attendance) and the technical expertise to ensure each film looks and sounds its best. At SIFF, every visiting filmmaker is treated like royalty and enjoys complimentary hotel accommodations and food, all day, every day.
