In the Spotlight today is the 7th Annual Columbia Gorge International Film Festival (CGIFF), a mentorship-oriented festival that taps directly into the sense of community and creativity that pulses throughout the American Northwest. Offering a schedule packed with exciting screenings held in traditional and non-traditional venues, and with a slew of great guest speakers and industry mentors on hand, CGIFF is primed to give each participating filmmaker the attention and guidance necessary to take promising careers to new heights.

When not viewing unforgettable films and shaking hands with industry players, CGIFF attendees are also invited to participate in non-traditional networking events, including whitewater kayaking, hiking, and other outdoor activities that take full advantage of the festival's gorgeous natural surroundings. Situated along the stunning Columbia River Gorge, CGIFF is a unique getaway from the fast pace and clogged commutes of the Hollywood scene.

An international event with an intimate, community-oriented focus, CGIFF has given away prizes valued at more than $25,000 USD in the past six years and expertly blends large public screenings with engaging, small forums ideal for dialogue surrounding social issues and cultural exchanges. Since its founding as the Washougal International Film Festival, CGIFF has experienced massive and organic growth, thanks to its enthusiastic alumni and participating artists. In short, this festival is a testament to the power of community, the magic of film, and to the opportunities that result when these forces are combined.
